Article 1. Name
This organization shall be called the New Jersey Korean Elders Association.

Bylaws
The official bylaws of the New Jersey Korean Elders Association, governing its members, organization, meetings, and finances.
Chapter 1. General Provisions
Article 2. Location
The office of the Association shall be located in New Jersey.
Article 3. Purpose
The purpose of the Association is for elders residing in New Jersey to stand at the forefront of spreading the Christian gospel, serving the church as its foundation, and, based on the spirit of Christ, taking the lead in mission, service, education, national revival, and related activities. The Association also aims to contribute to the revival of the church and the Korean community and to set an example for nurturing future generations.
Chapter 2. Membership Qualifications and Duties
Article 4. Qualifications
Membership is open to Korean Christian elders residing in New Jersey who are duly qualified.
Article 5. Duties
Members shall faithfully fulfill the obligations of this Association, including new membership registration, compliance with bylaws, payment of dues, participation, and cooperation.
Chapter 3. Organization and Duties
Article 6. Organization
The Executive Board of this Association shall consist of one President, one Senior Vice President, two Vice Presidents, one General Secretary, one Treasurer, and one Recording Secretary. In addition, there shall be various committees and special committees as follows: Mission Committee, Scholarship Committee, Prayer Committee, Music Committee, Women's Committee, Fellowship and Care Committee, Special Committee, and other supporting committees as needed.
Article 7. Duties
(a) Executive Officers 1. President: Represents the Association, oversees and supervises all its affairs, and provides leadership. 2. Vice Presidents: Assist the President in performing duties; in the absence of the President, the Senior Vice President shall assume all presidential responsibilities. 3. General Secretary: Handles the Association's general administrative affairs and projects, manages and guides operations, and records and preserves the minutes of all meetings. 4. Treasurer: Manages the budget, prepares and reports on financial matters, and presents the results to the Executive Board, Directors, and the General Assembly. 5. Recording Secretary: Records, preserves, and reports the minutes of all meetings of the Association. 6. Committees (1) Mission Committee: Responsible for planning and carrying out mission activities. (2) Prayer Committee: Offers prayers for the revival of each church, and for its members and pastors. (3) Scholarship Committee: Provides scholarships to qualified students residing in New Jersey. (4) Music Committee: Supports and fosters praise ministries as well as various musical events and concerts. (5) Women's Committee: Supports the activities of women elders and serves the needs of Christian women. (6) Fellowship and Care Committee: Promotes fellowship among members and provides support during occasions of joy and sorrow.
Chapter 4. Election and Term of Officers
Article 8. President
1. The President of this Association shall be elected at the Regular General Assembly; the candidate with the highest number of votes shall be elected President. The term of office shall be two (2) years, and re-election by vote is permitted. 2. At the Regular General Assembly, two (2) auditors with a one-year term shall be elected.
Article 9. Officers
All officers shall serve a term of one (1) year; they shall be appointed by the Executive Presidium and receive the approval of the Board of Directors.
Article 10. Advisors and Advisory Members
1. A few advisors shall be recommended by the Executive Presidium and shall serve a two-year term. 2. For the revival of the New Jersey Korean Elders Association, six (6) to ten (10) advisory members (pastors) shall be appointed.
Article 11. Sponsoring Directors
All directors shall be appointed by the Executive Presidium after referring to recommendations from the members, and must obtain approval of the General Assembly.
Article 12. Filling Vacancies
In the event of the President's vacancy, the Senior Vice President shall perform the duties until a new President is elected.
Chapter 5. Meetings and Functions
Article 13. The meetings of this Association and their functions are as follows
(a) Regular General Assembly: To be convened in mid-September each year. The President shall give two weeks' prior notice. At this meeting, new officers shall be elected, business and financial reports shall be presented, and other matters shall be discussed. (b) Special General Assembly: To be convened in special circumstances by resolution of the Executive Board at the request of the President. (c) Executive Board Meetings: To be convened regularly (monthly) or as needed, according to the affairs of the Association.
Chapter 6. Finance
Article 14. Finance
The finances required for the operation of this Association shall be covered by membership dues, donations, contributions, or special projects.
Article 15. Others
The annual membership dues for general members shall be determined at the Regular General Assembly, and may be substituted with monetary contributions. The board membership dues shall be decided by the Board of Directors.
Article 16. Amendment and Revision of Bylaws
Any amendment or revision of these bylaws shall require the approval of two-thirds (2/3) or more of the members present at the Regular General Assembly. Depending on circumstances, the matter may first be deliberated and amended at a Special General Assembly, and shall then be reported at the following General Assembly.
